the isomax magnet consists of two coil with a diameter of 60 cm. the
seperation of the coils is 66 cm. with a current of 120 a, we have measure a
field of 1.2 tesla at the center of the magnet warm bore. the warm bore opening
measures 60 cm by 60 cm and will occupied by the mid drift chamber as a
each coil rests in a liquid heilium dewar. the total volume of the two connected tanks is 390 liter. these container are wrapped with a head shield and placed in an alumium vacuum shell.
on the right side of the photo you can see the so called 'neck'. here are all connector for measuring and supply devices, e.g.: the helium filling line and the coil charger.

|before the detectors can be assembled with the magnet, a hexagonal alumium ring is build around the magnet. this hexagon is then mounted in the mid section with four steal bolds.|
